The NPhA 2024 convention was held August 9-12, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA at the LAX Marriott hotel. Each year, the NPhA | SNPhA Convention brings together almost 1,000 pharmacy practitioners and students from different regions, practices, and specialties to promote education, awareness, and opportunity within the pharmacy industry. The Convention features dynamic national speakers, professional development, poster presentations, an exhibit hall, the Bridging the Gap reception, outstanding networking opportunities, and many other special events.

The Atlanta Gates City chapter was represented by Drs. Dedra Evans, Josephine Nutter, Erin Searles and Melissa Washington, who all attended various sessions and networked with colleagues and students across the country.

During the award ceremony, Dr. Adrian Washington (PharmD ’91) was awarded the Terrence Burroughs Pharmacy. Dr. Washington’s daughter, Dr. Melissa Washington, accepted the award on his behalf.

Honoring Burroughs, a longtime member of the NPhA, the award recognizes contributions to the profession through involvement at both the local and national levels. Award winners are recognized as role models in volunteer community leadership and demonstrate commitment to serving underserved communities.

Dr. Washington is currently Vice President of Client Management and Pharmacy Development at UnitedHealth Group Optum Rx and a member of our local Board.

The 2025 NPhA convention will be held August 1-4, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
