National Pharmaceutical Association- Atlanta Gates City Chapter

On behalf of NPhA’s leadership, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated in the National Pharmaceutical Association’s 2nd Annual Congressional Black Caucus Reception, which took place on the Potomac View Terrace at the American Pharmacists Association’s Headquarters during the 2023 CBC Foundation Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) in Washington, DC.

Since its inception in 1971, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been dedicated to leveraging the full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources of the federal government to create opportunities for African Americans and other marginalized communities to achieve the American Dream. The CBC Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) serves as a vital platform for discussions and initiatives focused on issues impacting African Americans and the global Black community. This conference offers a rich tapestry of seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities with CBC members, their dedicated staffers, and representatives from organizations committed to addressing challenges faced by marginalized communities.

NPhA expresses its sincere appreciation to our sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible. We are immensely grateful to the following organizations for their support at various sponsorship levels:

Quality of Life Pharmacy and Health Inc.
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists
Frank North & Associates
American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy
American Pharmacists Association
National Community Pharmacists Association
Release Heaven on Earth
This year’s reception was made even more special as we celebrated the 85th birthday of one of our most distinguished members, Dr. Rosalyn King, who holds the honor of being the first African American employee of the American Pharmacists Association and is the esteemed author of the groundbreaking book “From Watts to The World.” Dr. King’s contributions have left an indelible mark on our community, and we were thrilled to commemorate this milestone during the event.

I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to our dedicated Zone 2 Director and CBC ALC Reception Planning Lead, Dr. Shantel Houston, whose unwavering leadership and commitment were instrumental in ensuring the success of this event. Dr. Houston’s dedication and tireless efforts were truly commendable. Thank you, Dr. Houston!

We are eagerly looking forward to your participation at the National Pharmaceutical Association 3rd Annual CBC Reception during the 2024 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference. Your continued support and engagement are essential to our shared mission, and we anticipate another enriching and successful event in the future.

Once again, thank you for your support and for being an integral part of this exceptional event. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any suggestions, feedback, or if there are ways we can collaborate further in the coming year.

Sincerely,

Frank North, Pharm.D., M.P.A.
